Benin Republic has qualified for the quarter-finals after beating Morocco 4-1 on penalties in the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Morocco and Benin dragged into extra time in the game which ended in the most dramatic circumstances.

Benin’s Moise Adilehou had found the opener off a well-executed set piece in the 53rd minute.

Following a foul on Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi by Stephane Sessegnon, Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech stepped up and smashed a 94th-minute penalty against the post to leave the score at 1-1 leading to the first extra time of the AFCON 2019.
