Embroiled in the Mathieu Valbuena sex-tape scandal, France forward Karim Benzema revealed on Twitter on Wednesday that he will not be selected for Euro 2016.

The French Football Federation (FFF) confirmed the news a short while after, with Real Madrid star Benzema to be left out after he was implicated in a sex-tape blackmail case that targeted his international teammate Valbuena.

Although legal restrictions that prevented him from coming into contact with Lyon playmaker Valbuena had been lifted, Benzema still needed the FFF to lift his ban from the national team.
