President Muhammadu Buhari has passed his condolences to the families of the 38 persons in a boat mishap in Kirfi Local Council, Bauchi State.
Okay.ng had earlier reported that 38 persons out of the 40 drowned on their way to their farms.
Buhari, reacting to the mashup, in a statement on Tuesday, October 8, issued by Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, described the incident “as a devastating tragedy not only for families of victims but also for the country.’’
The statement reads: “As the families of the unfortunate victims mourn, I extend my sympathies to them at this very difficult and trying moment, and pray that Allah comfort and give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
