Scores may have been killed on Sunday afternoon as twin blasts hit the Global System Communication (GSM) market in Potiskum, Yobe State.

According to Channels TV, two female suicide bombers attacked the market in a tricycle, famously known as Keke.

It was reported that as one alighted and went inside the market, the other was left in the tricycle as the two explosive devices went off simultaneously.

An eye witness said, “I can confirm to you that the situation at the moment is tense after the twin blast went off around 3.15 this afternoon and rescue operation is still ongoing and no one can tell you the casualty figure now.

“It’s so sad that we keep hearing this on daily basis.”

Authorities were yet to confirm the blast but hospital sources said that some bodies have been brought to the hospital mortuary.
