ABUJA, Nigeria: A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Apo, Abuja, ordered the final forfeiture of assets worth N8.9 billion (approximately $5.93 million) linked to businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to the Federal Government of Nigeria on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Justice Jude Onwugbuzie made the order while delivering judgment on an application filed by Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, seeking the final forfeiture of the assets. Okay News reports that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission urged the court to permanently forfeit the properties, arguing that they were linked to unlawful activities.
The forfeited assets include jewellery valued at N4.65 billion (approximately $3.1 million), 11 exotic vehicles worth N4.29 billion (approximately $2.86 million), $50,000, and N30 million (approximately $20,000) in cash.
The court granted the commission’s application and ordered that the jewellery, vehicles, and cash be finally forfeited to the government.
