Dr. Doyin Okupe, a respected Nigerian physician, politician, and former presidential aide, has died at the age of 72.

Sources close to the family revealed that Okupe had been critically ill in the weeks leading up to his passing.

Reports indicate that his health had deteriorated significantly, raising concerns among his loved ones and supporters.

According to reports, his death was linked to cancer. The publication previously reported in October 2023 that Okupe had been hospitalized with prostate cancer and was later flown to Israel for treatment.

Despite medical interventions, his condition reportedly did not improve as he and his family had hoped.

Okupe had a long history of battling cancer. He was first diagnosed with prostate cancer 16 years ago and later developed sarcoma in his right shoulder.

His passing marks the end of a notable career in Nigerian politics and public service.
