In a critical move to address the ongoing violence in Benue State, President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Makurdi, the state capital, to engage with key stakeholders on the recent spate of deadly attacks.

The President landed at the Tactical Air Command of the Nigerian Air Force Base in Makurdi at precisely 12:58 pm today. His visit is focused on the Yelwata community in the Guma Local Government Area, a hotspot for the violent incidents that have claimed numerous lives.

In recognition of the gravity of the situation and the significance of the presidential visit, the Benue State government has declared a public holiday. This measure is intended to facilitate public participation and underscore the urgency of restoring peace.

President Tinubu is expected to hold discussions with community leaders, security officials, and other major stakeholders as part of efforts to find lasting solutions to the violence. Further details of the visit and outcomes of the meetings will be provided as the situation develops.
