The Qatari-owned French giants, under the guidance of coach Luis Enrique, who secured his second Champions League title after winning with Barcelona in 2015, showcased a youthful and dynamic squad. Teenager Désiré Doué was the standout star, scoring twice and assisting the opening goal, becoming the first teenager since Eusebio in 1962 to net two goals in a final.

This triumph completes a historic continental treble for PSG, who had already secured the Ligue 1 title and Coupe de France this season. They become only the second French club to win Europe’s premier club competition, following Marseille’s 1993 success. Inter Milan, managed by Simone Inzaghi, suffered a heavy defeat in their second Champions League final in three years, ending a trophyless season after narrowly missing out on the Serie A title to Napoli. Their aging squad now faces the challenge of rebuilding to compete at the highest level again.
