Buhari extends condolences to Kukah over mother’s death

President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his condolences to Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Matthew Kukah, over the death of his mother, Janet.

Garba Shehu, presidential spokesman, conveyed Buhari’s message in a statement issued on Friday, July 10, 2020.

According to the statement, the president prayed to God to grant the deceased’s soul eternal rest.

The statement reads as follows: “President Muhammadu Buhari extends heartfelt condolences to the Most Rev Matthew Hassan Kukah, Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, on the passing of his mother Janet Hauwa Kukah.

“The President also commiserates with members of the family of Kukah, praying almighty God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest.”
