Buhari-Patience-Jonathan-brain-dead

The First Lady of Nigeria, Patience Jonathan has urged Nigerians not to vote for the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Muhammadu Buhari because he is ‘brain-dead.’

Mrs. Jonathan also said that Buhari would put women in purdah and trample on their rights if elected into power.

The First Lady stated this on Tuesday, March 3, during a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign rally in Lokoja, Kogi State.

“Vote for my husband, Jonathan. Do not vote for Buhari. He is an old man. People when they become old may not reason well and their brain may even be dead,” Mrs. Jonathan said.

“Wetin him dey find again? Him dey drag with him pikin mate. Old man wey no get brain, him brain don die pata pata,” she added in pidgin English.

The First Lady is said to have burst into song to taunt her husband’s opponent.

“If you vote Buhari, na your prison; if you vote APC, na your wahala,” she sang.

“What is change? Why did you not change things when you were there? Is it now that you want to be doing the things you weren’t doing before?” she asked referring to the APC slogan.

“Jonathan looked at us and said women, I am giving you the position of the chief justice of this country. Okonjo-Iweala is a woman, Diezani is a woman. Seventy percent of his cabinet are women,” she said.

“This administration identified and reckoned with women. Women were empowered; they were given opportunities to serve the nation and they performed creditably well to the admiration of the people,” the First Lady added.

“I thank you very much the people of Kogi. This is time around I came to thank you very well. I brought some gift for you, I brought rice, I brought meat, I brought brocade. I brought many things for you. It is not for election but to thank you very well,” Mrs. Jonathan said.

She also urged voters in the state to collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVC) and remember that their vote is their power.
