Buhari presents ICPC Integrity award to former airport cleaner

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday honoured a former cleaner at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, Ms. Josephine Ugwu, who on several occasions, found and returned millions of naira, forgotten in the toilet by airport users.

Okay.ng understands that the president presented the award to Ugwu in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, Buhari said that Ugwu has shown an uncommon sense of honesty in a society fast losing its moral conscience.

Buhari in a tweet on through his official Twitter handle (@MBuhari) said:

“On more than one occasion, Mrs Josephine Ugwu, a former cleaner at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, found and returned millions of naira forgotten in the toilet by airport users. Today it was my privilege to present her with an ICPC Integrity Award.”

Okay.ng recalls that in December 2014, Ugwu found and returned N3million she found at the airport. Also on December 27, 2014, she found and returned N600, 000.

In 2015, Ugwu, again, found N17 million and returned the money to the owner.
