The Corporate Affairs Commission has debunked the purported registration of a company called “Wickedness Association of Nigeria Lokoja Chapter”, describing it as false, fake and fraudulent.

The Management of the commission in a statement dated 9th of January 2023, stated that the it does not register Associations as business names and could therefore not have approved the registration of the peddled Association as a Business Name.

The statement also added that the purported registration certificate was not and could not have been issued by the Commission for the following reasons:

1. The Commission does not register Associations as Business Names;

2. The name and object of the “Association” offend the provisions of Section 852(1)(c) in that they are undesirable, offensive, and contrary to public policy; and

3. The officer who purportedly signed the certificate had retired from the service of the Commission long before the date the certificate was purportedly issued.

The Commission urged the public to disregard the registration of the said Association and described it as wicked and fraudulent.
