General Muhammadu Buhari, the APC presidential aspirant, says that he can pick a Muslim running mate for the 2015 election if he emerges victorious at the party’s primary election.
However, he notes that picking a Muslim running mate depends on the APC.
Buhari said on December 7, 2014, Sunday that in the past Nigeria had produced leaders of the same faith and referred to former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon and his service chiefs. According to Buhari, they were all Christians, the late MKO Abiola and Babagana Kingibe ticket in 1993 and even his team with Idiagbon.
Speaking about APC presidential primary, he says that if the processes are done freely and fairly, he will accept the result.
It would be added that whoever emerges as the APC presidential candidate, a debate with President Goodluck Jonathan awaits him.
