Cases of Lassa fever virus has been recorded in Ondo state with several infected persons admitted to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.

Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre Dr Liasu Ahmed confirmed the outbreak to newsmen on Monday.

Ahmed did not however give details of the outbreak, insisting that it was the prerogative of the State Government to do so.

It was gathered that some of the infected persons with critical conditions were referred to Irua Specialist Hospital in Edo State for treatment.
