The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has dismissed claims that Godwin Emefiele has been sacked as the governor of the apex monetary authority of Nigeria.

Mr. Isaac Okorafor, the Director Corporate Communications of the CBN, told Okay Nigeria that “the governor is in his office working. ”

Furthermore, another source in the CBN confirmed to our corespondent that “there is nothing like that, the governor is here, his tenure expires in June.

He also added that, “In fact he has functions to attend to tomorrow, one of which is to meet with stakeholders in the cotton value chain on Tuesday March 5, 2019.”

Reports emerged on the internet earlier on Monday that Emefiele has been sacked as the CBN Governor by the presidency.
