The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has cautioned Nigerians to disregard fraudulent recruitment messages being circulated online, describing them as fake and misleading.
In a statement posted on its official X handle late Wednesday, the Board stated that it would not communicate with applicants through email or SMS, emphasizing that all legitimate updates regarding the 2025 paramilitary recruitment process are available only on its official portal.
“CDCFIB will not send emails or SMS to applicants. Visit our portal, and once shortlisted, update your profile to print your examination slip. Follow the instructions carefully. Beware of scammers,” the statement read.
The warning comes as the recruitment exercise for the nation’s paramilitary agencies enters a crucial stage, with shortlisted candidates expected to participate in computer-based tests.
According to the Board’s Secretary, retired Maj.-Gen. Abdulmalik Jubril, candidates who applied for recruitment into any of the four paramilitary services — the Nigerian Correctional Service, the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps — are to visit the official portal, https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng, from Thursday, October 30, 2025, to check if they have been shortlisted.
“From Thursday, October 30, 2025, candidates are to check if they have been shortlisted for the next stage of the exercise, as well as centres for the Computer-Based Test (CBT). Shortlisted candidates are further requested to take note of the venue, date, as well as time scheduled for the CBT,” Jubril said.
Okay News reports that the Board urged Nigerians to take note of the correct web address and avoid unofficial sites to prevent being defrauded by impostors posing as recruitment agents.
It further stressed that all legitimate information concerning the recruitment process would only be shared through its verified channels, advising applicants to exercise caution and verify every detail before responding to any messages.
The CDCFIB also reiterated its commitment to transparency and fairness in the ongoing recruitment exercise and assured applicants that successful candidates would be duly notified through official means.
