Shortlisted candidates awaiting the next phase of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) recruitment exercise have been informed of a critical update regarding portal activation.

Okay News reports that the Board has announced a postponement of the portal opening originally scheduled for Monday, 1 December 2025.

What Candidates Need to Know

In a public statement signed by Maj. Gen. A. M. Jibril (Rtd.), Secretary to the Board, the CDCFIB confirmed that the portal will now open “as soon as possible” instead of today as earlier planned.

The delay affects thousands of applicants who were expected to log in to select their preferred screening venue and date for the physical verification exercise.

“The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has announced the postponement of the opening of the portal for shortlisted candidates to attend physical screening and document verification,” the statement said.

“The portal, which was initially scheduled to open on 1st December 2025, will now be open as soon as possible. Shortlisted candidates are advised to check the official recruitment portal, ‘recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng’ for updates on the new opening date.”

Why the Postponement?

According to the Board, the adjustment was necessary to ensure a smooth and efficient transition into the physical screening and document verification stage.

While no specific date has been announced, candidates are urged to remain on standby and monitor the official portal regularly.

CDCFIB Apologises to Applicants

The Board expressed regret for any inconvenience the delay may have caused and thanked applicants for their patience and understanding.

“The CDCFIB apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the interest of applicants in the recruitment exercise. Further announcements will be made on the official portal and social media handles,” the statement added.

What Happens Next?

Shortlisted candidates are advised to:

  • Check the official recruitment portal daily: recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng
  • Ignore unofficial sources and unverified messages
  • Prepare all required documents ahead of the screening exercise
  • Stay alert for further announcements on the new portal opening date

Okay News reports that the physical screening exercise, previously scheduled to hold nationwide from 8 December to 12 December 2025, may also be adjusted depending on when the portal eventually becomes active.

Candidates are strongly cautioned against falling victim to scammers or relying on information from unofficial channels.
