The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has warned Nigerians to disregard a circulating recruitment notice, describing it as fake.

Okay News reports that the board issued the clarification on its official X handle on Wednesday, urging the public to beware of fraudsters exploiting the ongoing recruitment exercise.

In its post, the board wrote: “DISCLAIMER!! Beware of fraudsters. The general public should be patient as the board is making the necessary arrangements for the next stage of the recruitment exercise.”

The warning came after a forged document, stamped “FAKE,” began circulating online. The document falsely claimed that shortlisted applicants were to proceed to the next phase of recruitment, including physical screening and document verification, between December 15 and December 26, 2025.

The fake notice featured the board’s logo and was signed in the name of “AM Jibril, Maj Gen (Rtd), Secretary to the Board,” dated December 10, 2025. CDCFIB said the document did not originate from its office and urged applicants to await official communication through its verified channels.

The board emphasised that it has not released any schedule for screening or verification and that all authentic updates will be published only on its website and official social media pages.

This latest scam attempt adds to the growing trend of fraudulent recruitment notices targeting job seekers across Nigeria.

CDCFIB said it remains in the process of organising the next phase of the recruitment exercise and will notify the public once arrangements are finalised.
