American R&B singer Chris Brown has said that he still loves Rihanna, revealing what led to their fight in 2009.
The singer revealed this in a documentary ‘Welcome To My Life’.
According to him, he wanted Rihanna, begged her a couple of times but she won’t stop fighting him because he had cheated on her with a lady who kept appearing in places, where he and Rihanna were spotted.
The ‘Crawl’ singer said after Rihanna spotted the lady at Clive Davies party, she was upset.
“That changed my life. The person comes in, comes right to the table and says, “Hey what’s up y’all.” And I already know it’s an issue, so I say “Hey cool” and I keep it moving. I look over at Rihanna and she’s bawling, she’s crying.”
He said he told Rihanna that he had warned the said lady to stop coming to places they hung out in and even gave her his phone to substantiate his claims, unknown to him the lady texted that she would be there. When Rihanna saw the message, she became furious and started to hit him. He said that she threw his phone at him which made him react by punching her in the face and bursting her lips.
“She starts going off, she throws the phone, “I hate you!”, she starts hitting me, we’re in a little Lamborghini, you know she’s fighting me.
“Like I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating sh*t, but then I really hit her. Like I punched her, and it busted her lip, and when I saw it I was in shock, I was “f**k, why did I hit her like that?” So from there she’s…spitting blood in my face, it raised me even more. It’s a real fight,” he said.
Consequences
Speaking on the consequences of their fight, he said the situation created a state of mistrust between him and his sweetheart.
Brown said he tried everything but Riri wouldn’t buy it.
“After that, I tried everything. She didn’t care, she just didn’t trust me after that.
“From there, it just went downhill because it would be fights, it would be verbal fights, physical fights as well. I still love Rihanna, but I’m just going to be honest – we would fight each other, she would hit me, I would hit her, but it never was OK,” he added.
