Music Director of Christ Embassy Church Zone 1, Idimangoro Parish, Agege, Lagos, Edward Nnaji, has been arrested for allegedly abducting a female banker and demanding for a N20 million ransom.

According to Daily Post, Nnaji conspired with two others to abduct the victim in Lagos in 2012. They took her to an uncompleted building in Ogun State, where she was kept for four days, with her hands and legs in chains.

The family of the victim paid N5 million to secure her release.

In August 2014, Nnaji reportedly sent a text message to the former abductee, demanding that she pay N150,000 in his account. He threatened that failure to do so would cause them to abduct her again and kill her.

FEDSARS detectives encouraged the woman to transfer the money, which she did. When Nnaji went to an ATM to withdraw the money, he was arrested.

Nnaji’s accomplices have been identified as Osas Osagie, 23 and Patrick Donatus Jackson, 29. They have all been arrested and will remain in police custody until January 13, 2015, when further hearing will take place.
