Civilians Assist Military To Repel Another Boko Haram Attack In Borno

The Boko Haram sect once again went for broke last night to continue its reign of terror on residents of Borno State but got more than they expected as a resistant combined fire-power of military and youth vigilantes (Civilian JTF), managed to successfully repel their attack.

The daring attack which took place in the late hours of Friday night claimed a lot of casualties from both parties.

According to witness reports, the insurgents were advancing from Koshebe village in Mafa town,located about seven kilometres towards Zabarmari in Jere Local Government Area with superior fire-power before the military kept them abbey.

An eye-witness, Maimala Shehu however informed that he saw youth vigilantes members conveying both dead bodies and injured victims apparently to the hospital.

Jere Local Government Area is largely engross in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council having been carved out of the MMC.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that scores of people have been feared dead and many others injured in two separate attacks on Friday evening in Bama town and Koshebe village of Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.

This latest attacks came just a day after similar incidents in Kukawa,Monguno, Malari in Konduga and Miringa town of Biu Local Government Area claimed over two hundred lives.

Bama town, recently recaptured from Boko Haram, is situated in Mafa on the eastern part is just few kilometers away from the State Capital.
