Comedienne and actress Damilola Adekoya, widely known as Princess, has called on the Lagos State Government and the Department of Justice to officially include actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly called Baba Ijesha, on the sex offender register following his release from prison.

Speaking during a live Instagram session on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Princess stated, “I want to urge Lagos State Government, the Department of Justice, to please publish his name in the sex offenders register,” emphasizing that she would be monitoring the development closely.

Addressing widespread speculation that Baba Ijesha had been pardoned, she clarified, “No matter how much it hurt me, I have not hoarded any information; Baba Ijesha is now a convict… nobody freed him.” She expressed relief that the public, schools, hostels, and landlords are now aware of his criminal record.

Okay News reports that prior to the live stream, Princess had shared a video in which she appeared as a caricature of herself, advocating for child protection. In the clip, she said, “Hi, my name is Princess, and I believe that children should be loved, protected, and provided for. If you know any child who has been abused mentally, physically, or sexually, please DM me at Princess Damilola Foundation on Instagram. Thank you, we need to look out for ourselves.”

Baba Ijesha was released following a Court of Appeal ruling that overturned his prior conviction for sexually assaulting a minor. The news of his release was first publicized on social media by actor Yomi Fabiyi on Friday, who wrote, “You are now officially FREE AND OUT. Baba Ijesha is not just back but BETTER,” in a six-point post detailing the case.

Princess had previously accused Baba Ijesha of sexually abusing her fourteen-year-old foster daughter. CCTV footage she reportedly installed captured the actor allegedly touching the minor. In July 2022, a Lagos court sentenced him to sixteen years in prison after convicting him on multiple counts, including indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault.

Attempts to reach Baba Ijesha or Yomi Fabiyi for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting. Calls and messages to Princess were also unanswered, with her phone reportedly switched off.
