The ongoing legal dispute over the Kano Emirate has been adjourned until July 4, as the court granted an adjournment to allow for the hearing of all pending applications and originating motions.

The case, which pits Aminu Bayero against Lamido Sanusi, was initially scheduled for a hearing on July 2, but counsel for Bayero requested more time to respond to the applications.

The presiding judge, Justice Amina Adamu, granted the adjournment, setting a new date of July 4 for the hearing.

The legal battle began on May 27, with the attorney general, speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, and the Kano State House of Assembly seeking an interim injunction to restrain Bayero and four other dethroned emirs from parading themselves as emirs.
