A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Monday declared as illegal the newly constituted caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Justice Ibrahim Buba, while making the pronouncement directed the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, to ensure that the newly constituted members of the committee do not take over the position of the party’s acting National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.
Recall that the party had on Saturday sacked Sheriff while constituting a caretaker committee headed by a former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Makarfi during its National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
