Court Dismisses Dasuki’s Appilication to Stop Trial

A High Court of the Federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja has discarded the application of former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, to stop his trial over allegations of diversion of arms procurement funds.

Justice Hussein Baba-Yusuf on Monday, held that the central issue to be considered was whether or not the federal government was in contempt of court for failing to release Dasuki after he was granted bail.

He therefore ruled that the federal government was not in contempt of court because it was the DSS, that was holding him, and not the EFCC, which is the main prosecution in the case.

Consequently, he struck out Dasuki’s application for lacking in merit.
