Court Of Appeal Nullifies Election Of Nyesom Wike, Orders Election Rerun

The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has upheld and affirmed the decision of the Governorship Election Tribunal -nullifying the election of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State. The court ordered Wike to vacate the seat immediately.

The Appeal Court has ordered INEC to conduct election in Rivers State in 90 days.

The tribunal headed by Justice Suleiman Ambrosa had in a judgment on October 24 voided Wike’s election and ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh election in the state.
