Abuja, NIGERIA – The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the final and interim forfeiture of five high-value real estate assets belonging to the jailed former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, as the federal government aggressively claws back billions in stolen public wealth.
Presiding Judge, Justice James Omotosho, issued the multi-property asset seizure on Thursday at the Maitama division. Okay News reports that the assets include Walijam Apartments, located on Lobito Crescent in Wuse 2, Abuja, which has been permanently forfeited to the Federal Government after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) proved it was acquired entirely with the proceeds of crime.
Additionally, Justice Omotosho ordered the interim forfeiture of four other massive commercial and residential properties tied to the convict. These include Bloom Luxury Suites in Kaduna State, two upscale mansions situated on Misratah Street in Wuse 2, and the A.U.A Plaza on Kade Street, Abuja. The court directed the anti-graft agency to publish the interim order in a national daily within seven days, allowing any interested third parties to show cause why the properties should not be permanently seized.
The extensive asset recoveries follow the high-profile conviction of Mamman, whom Justice Omotosho sentenced to a cumulative 75 years imprisonment on May 13, 2026, after finding him guilty of an amended 12-count charge bordering on a ₦33.8 billion money laundering and contract fraud scheme. Alongside his hefty prison sentence, the court had ordered the former minister to make a direct financial restitution of ₦22 billion to the coffers of the federation.
