Court Releases Haliru Bello’s Passport For Medical Treatment

A Federal High Court in Abuja has released the international passport of former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Haliru Bello to enable him go for medical checkup overseas.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed, while granting the request by defence counsel Kanu Agabi (SAN), directed the defendant to return the document to the court registrar as soon as he arrives the country in May.

Bello, his son, Abba and his company, Bam Projects and Property Ltd were arraigned inJanuary by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly receiving the sum of N300 million from the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

The case has been adjourned to May 18 for hearing.
