Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Al Nassr Exit with Cryptic Post

Portuguese football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked fresh speculation over his future at Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr after posting a cryptic message on X that hints at a possible departure.

“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” Ronaldo wrote late Monday night, fueling widespread rumors that his stint in Saudi Arabia could be nearing its end.

The message comes at a critical juncture, as Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr is set to expire this summer. It also follows the club’s disappointing 3-2 loss to Al Fateh on May 26, 2025, a result that shattered their hopes of qualifying for the AFC Champions League.

Despite scoring his 25th goal of the season—bringing his total to 99 goals for Al Nassr—Ronaldo’s efforts couldn’t prevent the team from crashing out of contention. Al Nassr had taken the lead during the match, but defensive lapses saw Al Fateh rally to secure victory. With Al Hilal defeating Al Qadsiah on the same day, Al Nassr’s chances for Champions League football officially ended.

Now, their only hope of securing a continental tournament slot rests on Al Ittihad winning the King Cup, which would open the door for Al Nassr to participate in the secondary AFC competition.

While Ronaldo has not formally announced an exit, his choice of words mirrors sentiments he has expressed during past transitions in his career. Football fans and pundits alike are interpreting the message as a potential sign of departure.

Ronaldo’s career spans iconic spells at Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now Al Nassr, with a record-breaking international run for Portugal. He recently marked major milestones, including 900 career goals and 1,200 professional matches, cementing his legacy as one of football’s greatest.

If this signals the end of his Saudi chapter, questions loom about his next move. Will he return to European football, compete in the upcoming Club World Cup, or explore a new market altogether?

As of press time, neither Ronaldo nor Al Nassr has issued an official statement clarifying the status of their relationship.

For now, all eyes remain on the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, whose story, as he aptly puts it, is “still being written.”Cristiano Ronaldo Hints at Al Nassr Exit with Cryptic Post
