ABEOKUTA, Nigeria — Governor Dapo Abiodun has officially commissioned the new Pharma-Grade Warehouse of the Ogun State Drugs and Health Commodities Management Agency, to boost the state’s healthcare supply chain system.
The state-of-the-art facility was commissioned on Thursday, June 18, 2026, as part of the administration’s strategic framework to eliminate drug stock-outs across all twenty local government areas.
Okay News reports that the newly constructed facility stands as the largest and best-equipped medical storage asset of its kind in the country. Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasized that the warehouse will ensure the highly efficient, temperature-controlled preservation and rapid distribution of essential medicines and diagnostic commodities to frontline health facilities throughout the state.
The Governor also disclosed that over 30,000 residents living with HIV are currently receiving free antiretroviral therapy, expert counseling, and continuous support services across Ogun State’s healthcare centers. While commending the vital support of the Global Fund and other international development partners, Abiodun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to scaling up preventative testing and intensifing strategic clinical interventions to permanently combat the spread of tuberculosis and malaria within the state’s borders.
