LOS ANGELES, United States — Nigerian music star Davido has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the official countdown concert ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Okay News reports that FIFA announced Davido will perform alongside Major Lazer, the internationally known music project led by DJ and producer Diplo, during a special event celebrating the build-up to football’s biggest tournament.
According to FIFA, the concert will take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will combine music, football, and cultural entertainment as excitement grows ahead of the global competition. Doors are expected to open at 5:00 p.m. local time, while the live broadcast is scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be jointly hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, marking the first time three countries will stage the tournament together. Davido’s inclusion in the event highlights the growing international influence of African music on major global sporting platforms.
