Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced that the death toll from the suicide bomb attack in Gwoza, Borno State, has risen to 31. The attack, which occurred on Saturday, also left 26 people receiving treatment at the specialist hospital, while 14 have been discharged.

The Vice President visited the hospital and condoled with the families of the victims, conveying President Bola Tinubu’s condolences to the people of Gwoza and Borno State. He was accompanied by the Deputy Governor of Borno State, Babagana Kingibe, Senator Ali Ndume, and other government officials.

The attack, which was carried out by four suicide bombers, is one of the deadliest reported in the state in recent months. President Tinubu has condemned the attack, describing it as a desperate act of terror, and vowed to take necessary measures to secure citizens and ensure that those responsible face justice.
