LAGOS, Nigeria – Nottingham Forest defender Ola Aina stated in a video that surfaced on Tuesday that he will not transfer to Arsenal.
Okay News reports that Ola Aina rejected the transfer concept during an interaction with a fan at Wimbledon. “I’m too old for Arsenal,” Aina said.
The 29-year-old Nigeria international has played for Nottingham Forest for three seasons after joining from Torino in the summer of 2023. Aina, who developed in the Chelsea academy, previously played in the Premier League for Fulham during the 2020/21 campaign. The defender was linked to Manchester City in January 2025 after recording two goals and one assist across 35 appearances in the 2024/25 season.
Aina intends to score five goals in the upcoming 2026/27 season. The full-back made 28 appearances in all competitions during the previous campaign without scoring a goal, securing his only assist in a 2-1 loss to Fenerbahce in the UEFA Europa League.
“I need to pray and fast because I did not score any goals last season. The season before, I think I got three goal involvements. I need to do some serious prayer and fasting because I need at least five. If I get five, I will be content,” Aina said.
