Asaba, Delta State, Nigeria – Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has approved the recruitment of more than 700 medical and non-medical personnel to strengthen healthcare delivery across Delta State.
Okay News learnt that the initiative forms part of broader efforts by the state government to improve access to quality healthcare services and enhance operational efficiency across public health facilities.
The development was disclosed by Dr. Joseph Onojaeme during a press briefing, where he explained that the recruitment is aimed at addressing manpower gaps in key health institutions. According to him, 295 personnel will be deployed to the Hospital Management Board, 120 to the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, 100 to the College of Health Technology in Ovrode, 60 to Asaba Specialist Hospital, and 12 to Warri Central Hospital.
In addition to the recruitment, the Commissioner revealed that the state has procured three 1.5 Tesla MRI machines. The machines are helium-free, more cost-effective, and easier to maintain, reflecting ongoing investments in modern medical technology to improve diagnosis and treatment across the state.
