DHQ Says 152 Terrorists Killed in One Week

The Defense Headquarters said on Friday that troops killed a total of 152 terrorists and arrested 109 during the week.

The military high command also said that the strongholds of the two notorious terrorist leaders Sadik enclave in Tsora Hill in Safana Local Government Area, Katsina State; and Yusuf Enclave in Yadi Forest, Giwa LG, Kaduna State, were destroyed.

In a statement by the Director of Media Operations, Eduard Buba , the achievements of the troops were an indication that the army was making steady progress towards the goal of destroying all criminal elements.

He said: ” The fight against terrorists, insurgents, violent extremists and other perpetrators of insecurity in the country is ongoing, and the troops are maintaining the momentum to achieve victory. Indeed, the armed forces are making steady progress towards objective to destroy all these elements.

” In view of the recent events, the army opens every day and improves its methods to better deal with the threatening situations presented by these terrorist groups . The troops move against the terrorists and deny them any freedom of action.

” During the week, the troops carried out surgical operations against two major terrorist commanders and destroyed their bases. Namely, Sadiku Enclave in Tsora Hill in Safana LGA of Katsina State and Alhaji Yusuf Enclave in Yadi Forest in Giwa LGA of Kaduna State.

“Overall, troop operations during the week neutralized 152 terrorists, arrested 109 people and freed 91 hostages,” Buba said.

He noted that during operations against crude oil theft, goods worth N795 million were recovered.

He said: ” In the South-South, troops have thwarted theft of oil worth only N795,683,395.00. Also, troops have disrupted crude oil theft activities in the following locations through interdiction operations of the air: Bugama , Cawtorne Channel and Krakrama , all in Rivers state. The troops also arrested two terrorist associates who were responsible for negotiating with the relatives of the victims, among other things.

Buba , however, urged citizens to support the troops to win the war against insecurity in the country.
