Borussia Dortmund defender Neven Subotic has joined French Ligue 1 side St. Etienne on a free transfer, ending his nine year stay at the club.

Subotic joined Borussia Dortmund in 2008 for 4.5 million euros after Jürgen Klopp decided to bring him along from Mainz. He formed a superb defensive partnership over the years with Mats Hummels and helped the club win back to back league titles in 2011 and 2012.
