Borussia Dortmund have signed goalkeeper Marwin Hitz from league rivals Augsburg on a free transfer

The “BVB” completed their first summer transfer after Augsburg’s Marwin Hitz penned a three-year deal, to stay with the “Black and Yellows until June 2021.

“We are pleased that we were able to sign with Marwin Hitz a very experienced goalkeeper, who has proven his qualities on the high level of the Bundesliga for many years,” Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc said.

The Swiss international played since 2013 for Augsburg and made overall 141 appearances, providing one goal. Hitz is since 2015 part of Switzerland’s national team where he made two caps.

“After five fantastic years at Augsburg I wanted to experience something different again. I am looking forward to the challenge at such a big club and to the matches in the Champions League,” the 30-year-old goalkeeper said.
