Jones Abiri

Jones Abiri, a Nigerian journalist, who was arrested during weekend has been freed by the Department of State Service (DSS).

Okay Nigeria had reported on Saturday that armed men believed to be operatives of the State Security Services (SSS) whisked away with Abiri, to an unknown location.

However, Abiri has been released from detention of the on Monday afternoon from the secret police’s detention facility in Abuja.

“He has just been released around 2:00 p.m.,” lawyer Samuel Ogala confirmed.
