Dupe Olusola, the Managing Director and CEO of Transcorp Hotels Plc, has been recognized with the prestigious Guardian Seven Wonder Women Awards for Innovative Entrepreneurship & Careers.

The award was unveiled at the Guardian Woman Festival Dinner and Awards held in Lagos on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Dupe was among seven exceptional women honored in different categories, collectively forming Guardian’s Seven Wonder Women.

This accolade further solidifies Dupe Olusola’s remarkable trajectory, following her previous wins such as the Leadership CEO of the Year Award in 2023 and the Seven Stars Luxury Hospitality and Lifestyle Awards CEO of the Year 2023.

These awards underscore her outstanding leadership and significant contributions to the hospitality sector.

Regarded as an inspiration and symbol of female leadership and career excellence, Dupe Olusola made history earlier this year as the first female CEO of a N1 trillion company. Under her stewardship, Transcorp Hotels experienced remarkable growth, with its market capitalization soaring and share price rising from N6.25 to N100 in the past year.

Navigating through the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Dupe Olusola led Transcorp Hotels from a position of loss to impressive year-on-year performance, achieving a revenue of N42.7 billion in 2023. Her innovative strategies and commitment to excellence have been credited for the company’s remarkable achievements.

Dupe Olusola’s ability to revitalize and transform businesses sets her apart in the industry. With a diverse background spanning Economics, Finance, Banking, and Private Equity, her expertise cuts across various sectors, showcasing her versatility and adaptability. Her visionary leadership style has propelled Transcorp Hotels to unprecedented success, making her a beacon of leadership in Africa.

Transcorp Hotels continues its impressive expansion efforts, with plans to launch a 5,000-seater event center later this year and commence work on a 315-room five-star property in Ikoyi, Lagos. Additionally, the hospitality firm has expanded its footprint through its asset-light business, Aura by Transcorp Hotels, offering guests the opportunity to book homes, hotels, and experiences across Nigeria.

The Guardian Seven Wonder Women Award received nominations for over 120 women, with more than 7,000 votes cast.
