The American aid worker who was infected with Ebola virus in Sierra Leone and flown to the US for treatment is in a serious condition, reports say.

A statement from the National Institutes of Health in Bethesday where the victim is being treated said after physicians evaluated the patient, it was determined that his condition is serious.

Two new Ebola cases emerged Thursday in Sierra Leone – two aid workers, one American and one British, and they were flown to their respective countries for treatment.

The condition of the British victim is unclear at this time.
