Abuja, Nigeria – Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday cordoned off a street leading to the residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in Abuja, restricting movement within the area.

Eyewitnesses reported that the anti-graft officials arrived in multiple vehicles and strategically positioned themselves along Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street, effectively blocking access to the entire street. Residents and visitors were denied entry as security presence intensified, with operatives maintaining control of the surrounding neighbourhood.

Okay News reports that the development comes amid ongoing legal scrutiny involving Malami, although the EFCC has yet to release an official statement explaining the operation or confirming its exact purpose.

The situation caused tension in the area, as onlookers gathered at a distance while authorities continued to monitor activities around the residence. Further details are expected as the commission provides clarification on the action.
