Candidate background
Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori is a Nigerian politician from Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue State and the founder of the National Democratic Party. She serves as the party’s national chairman, a position confirmed in INEC’s register of political parties.
Her work in establishing the NDP included pursuing its formal registration through the courts. According to the party’s published history, its registration application was rejected in December 2025, after which it challenged the decision at the Federal High Court in Abuja. The party says a February 2026 judgment led to its registration certificate being issued the following month. Okwori subsequently became the NDP’s presidential candidate, appearing in Voice of Nigeria’s September 2026 report of INEC’s final list for the 2027 election.
