Energy Supply To 11 DisCos Rises To 4,871MW

The Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) has reported a rise in energy supply to the country’s 11 electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos), with total sent-out power reaching 4,871 megawatts (MW) on Monday, October 27, 2025.

This marks an increase from the 4,783MW dispatched on Sunday, October 26, according to NISO’s Grid Performance Dashboard.

The report also showed that total energy generated rose to 4,923MW on October 27, up from 4,783MW the previous day. However, by 4:00 p.m. on October 28, the energy sent out had returned to 4,783MW.

The load distribution profile revealed that Abuja and Ikeja DisCos received the highest allocations, with 732MW each. Eko DisCo followed with 613MW, while Ibadan DisCo received 573MW.

Other allocations included:

  • Benin DisCo: 390MW
  • Enugu DisCo: 372MW
  • Jos DisCo: 270MW
  • Kaduna DisCo: 309MW
  • Kano DisCo: 321MW
  • Port Harcourt DisCo: 339MW
  • Yola DisCo: 139MW

As of 4:00 p.m. on October 28, energy generated by 16 power plants stood at 3,141.58MW.

The increase in generation and distribution reflects ongoing efforts to stabilize Nigeria’s national grid and improve electricity access across the country.
