Ex-Chelsea boss set to replace Mourinho as Manchester United manager

Antonio Conte has emerged as a strong favorite to replace Jose Mourinho as Manchester United manager, CalcioMercato reports.

Conte is currently without a job after he was sacked by Chelsea this summer.

As Mourinho continues to battle unrest in the dressing room, the Italian is being viewed as a candidate for the Old Trafford role, if events take a drastic twist in the foreseeable future.

Mourinho is at loggerheads with midfielder Paul Pogba and United would rather allow the Portuguese leave than sell the player.

It is believed that Conte would be open to the idea of joining the Red Devils if the opportunity presents itself.
