Former President Olusegun Obasanjo openly endorsed Peter Obi, the Presidential candidate for the Labour Party, ahead of the presidential election in February.

Obasanjo in a New Year’s message titled “My appeal to all Nigerians particularly Young Nigerians,” stated that while none of the candidates are perfect, or “saints,” he believes that when considering their knowledge, discipline, and ability to lead, Obi has a clear advantage over the other candidates.

The former President also mentioned that he personally has had experience working with Obi and has seen firsthand his focus and determination in leading and working towards the betterment of the country.

Obasanjo emphasized the importance of choosing a leader with the necessary qualities and experience to navigate the current challenges facing the nation and guide it towards a brighter future.
