Faisal Makarfi, the son of Ahmed Makarfi, former governor of Kaduna State, tragically passed away in a road accident in Kaduna on Saturday evening.

In a condolence message, Adolphus Wabara, chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), expressed deep sorrow over Faisal’s passing, describing it as a “profound loss” to the Makarfi family and all who knew him.

“Losing a child is an unimaginable pain, and we stand with him during this very difficult time,” Wabara’s statement read. “Dr. Faisal’s passing is not only a loss to his family but to all those whose lives he touched through his dedication and compassion. We pray that Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercy, grants the family strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

Faisal will be laid to rest on Sunday morning, in accordance with Islamic rites.

Ahmed Makarfi, Faisal’s father, served as governor of Kaduna from 1999 to 2007 and is a prominent figure in Nigerian politics.

He currently holds the position of secretary of the PDP BoT and was the caretaker chairman of the party between 2017 and 2018.
