Fake Presidential Adviser Arrested In Abuja

The Nigerian police has arrested a man who pretended to be a presidential adviser on defence matters.

Anjuguri Manzah, the spokesman for the Federal Capital Territory police command, made a disclosure on Monday, October 19 adding that the suspect had been detained on Sunday on a tip-off.

According to NAN, Manzah said the fake colonel (name withheld) had been defrauding socially influential people. On the day of the arrest the suspect went to Maitama area of Abuja to hold a fraudulent meeting.

Shortly after having been nabbed by the police, he confessed to the crime.

“He also confessed that he only hides under that guise to solicit for juicy contracts or financial favour from his high profile victims.”

Narrating his ordeal, the man said he had been involved in the fraudulent activity for three years and added:

“I thought it was an easy way to feed my family.”
