Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has promised that the team would not fail to qualify for the forthcoming Africa Women Championship qualifiers billed for Cameroon.

The Arsenal Ladies forward who spoke recently against the backdrop of Nigeria’s 1-1 draw in the clash with Senegal in Dakar said that there were quality players who were in their best form in the team that would make the qualification battle easier.

She added that the players’ ultimate goal was to retain the title Nigeria won last year in Zambia: “We will not disappoint Nigerians. As a team, we are determined to qualify and retain the title.”

“We have a lot of good players in the team and when we have a lot of people playing at their best it will make the game a lot easier.”

On coach Florence Omagbemi’s ability to lead the Nigerian women to glory she said: “For the team, I think she is doing her best and she is really doing a good job. Yea, I believe she can lead the team.

“Obviously with what I have seen so far, I think she is going in the right direction and things are going on well with the team. I think she can lead the team to greater heights.”

Oshoala concluding applauded the appointment of the ex-international to handle the Falcons: “It is a very good opportunity given to her as a coach of the Super Falcons.”

However, Nigeria needs to up their game to grab the maximum points against the Bassouare Diaby’s women to berth a place at the championship which will kick off from November 19 to December 3, 2016 in Cameroon.
