Family Calls for Help as Zaria Islamic Scholar Goes Missing in Abuja

Published

The family of Sheikh Khalifa Sani Abdulkadir, a well-known Islamic cleric from Zaria, Kaduna State, has raised an alarm over his disappearance 25 days after he traveled to Abuja.

The scholar reportedly left home to resolve a frozen bank account issue with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving a N2 million transaction.

Okay News reports that while the cleric’s son accompanied him to the EFCC office, the case was allegedly transferred to military authorities for further investigation. The family remains deeply distressed as they have had no direct contact with the Sheikh since his initial detention.

Although rumors have circulated suggesting the arrest is linked to prayers for political figures, the family maintains they have received no official charges.

They are now appealing to the federal government to disclose his location and ensure his immediate release or a formal trial.
