“The offices and documents are intact”, Mrs. Onwuliri said. “The fire service chief has assured that everybody is safe”.
It would be recalled that the fire started at about 1.40pm and affected the 3rd to 6th floor of phase three of the secretariat, which houses the Federal Ministry of Education.
At the time of the incident, the Minister of Education, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, was having an interactive section with Principals of unity schools from across the country.
The meeting had to be brought to an abrupt end as Mr. Shekarau and other officials were evacuated from the building.
Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to ascertain the cause of the fire.
